A New Website For The Home Cook

"This popular and much visited site has been given a new look, with more advice and information", says Bruce Thompson, Executive Chef/Nutritionist at Ontario Pork.

"The present site, especially the recipe database, has been such a success that we have decided to add all sorts of new resources". The new additions include Short Video Clips which offers step-by-step cooking techniques for pork cuts, with new recipes attached.

The Dictionary of Cooking Terms; have you ever wondered what the difference is between braising and stewing? The answer to this and definitions of those often confusing culinary terms are explained in language that everyone can understand.

Coming soon will be Just for Kids that gives ideas to get the kids interested in what's going on in the kitchen, plus games and other fun stuff! It's interactive and totally cool!

The existing recipe pages are now greatly expanded. In addition to the host of unique, original pork recipes, Ontario Pork has made the cook's life easier by providing much needed information and pointers on all the other elements that go into making a perfect meal – all on the same site. These new changes include Accompaniments, which provides information and recipes for potatoes, rice, beans, pasta and noodles. Side Dishes that Work: for that little extra touch to compliment your candle-lit soirĂ©e; salads, salsas, and beyond! Great Additions will give you ideas and recipes for those interesting supermarket items you were never quite sure what to do with.; Porkpeople.com doesn't just list Herbs and Spices in a recipe; it also provides full descriptions and information of each one when you activate a pop-up window! If you have ever wondered where to find, or what to do with fennel seed or lemongrass, this, and the whole world of herbs and spices, is explained. Also look for Recipe of the Month and the new Chef's Tips which shares great food techniques and insights from the chef's perspective.

Sauces, Rubs and Marinades: rubs and marinades work so well with pork that Ontario Pork has put them all into one place for easy access. Also included is a collection of sauces, from the classics to the contemporary! Of course, My Personal Recipe File is a place to collect all your favourite recipes in one convenient location.

Another interesting item added to the website is the e-recipe service. Once you've signed yourself in, you automatically receive new recipes and updates on what's happening in the pork world.
